New Wella Pure Perfection, now in salon

21 September 2026 · Blondes
Bright blonde colour with soft waves, finished in the salon at La Mode Gympie

Pretty hair and colour things. That is the caption, and it is a fair description of what has been coming out of La Mode lately. There is something new on the shelf as well: the Pure Perfection colour range from Wella Professionals is now in salon.

The result, plainly: more to work with in the mixing bowl. A wider palette of tones, a colour house we already trust, and a blonde that looks clean rather than flat. If you have been circling the idea of a colour change, this is a good moment to sit down and talk it through.

What Pure Perfection changes in the chair

When a colour house releases a new range, the question we get asked is always the same. What does it actually change for me? The honest answer is that it changes what is possible once we start mixing.

La Mode works on Wella Professionals and Goldwell, and has done for years. Pure Perfection sits inside a system we already know, which matters more than the name on the tube. Colour is not one product. It is a base, a developer, a toner and a finishing gloss, and the result is decided by how those are chosen and how they are applied.

Warmth through the ends, kept clean at the root.

A broader range means a closer match to the tone you are chasing and fewer compromises on the way there. It also means more control when someone arrives with eight months of box colour and wants to be blonde by Friday. We will tell you what is realistic in one appointment and what needs two. If you would rather see the cost before you sit down, our pricing page sets it out.

What we will not do is quote a result over the phone. What is already on your hair decides everything, so every colour appointment at La Mode begins with a proper consultation and an honest conversation. That is the same stylist who will be doing the work, start to finish. You can read more about how we run things on our about page.

How a blonde is built

Most of the blonde work shown here started with sectioning. Fine, clean partings decide how evenly the lightener or colour is placed, and even placement is what stops a blonde going patchy two weeks later. From there it is a choice between foils and freehand.

Foils give you control close to the root and take longer. Freehand work, the balayage side of things, gives a softer grow-out and a more lived-in finish. Plenty of the blondes we do use both: foils through the front and crown where the light hits, freehand through the lengths where a hard line would look wrong.

The finish is part of the colour.

Once the lift is where it needs to be, the tone goes on. This is the part clients underestimate. Lifting takes pigment out; toning is what puts the right pigment back, and it is the difference between a blonde that reads buttery, or pearly, or vanilla, and one that reads yellow.

The finish matters too. A cut and a blow-dry are what make colour look deliberate rather than accidental, and we finish with ghd styling. Our salon services cover cutting, colour, styling, extensions and the rest if you want the full picture.

Keeping it right between visits

Blonde needs a little maintenance at home, and it is not complicated. Leave the first wash for a couple of days after a colour appointment so the tone can settle. Use a shampoo made for coloured hair rather than a supermarket clarifying one, which strips tone faster than anything else in your cupboard.

Style that holds past the first wash.

Heat is the other thing. ghd tools are gentle when they are used properly, which means a heat protector every time and the lowest setting that does the job, not the highest. If you swim regularly, wet the hair first and rinse straight after. Chlorine and blonde are not friends.

Between appointments, most blondes benefit from a gloss at around the six-week mark to refresh the tone, and a trim every six to eight weeks to keep the ends solid. Ask at the basin and we will map out a rhythm that fits your budget rather than pushing you into more appointments than you need.
