The Clinical LUCASPLUS system selectively destroys excess melanin cells with minimal thermal diffusion, using a stable and constant lower fluence that leaves the surrounding tissue untouched. That selectivity is the whole point — it takes out the pigment without damaging healthy skin around it.
Melasma is an acquired pigmentary condition characterised by brownish hyper-pigmented macules, usually found on both sides of the face. It is one of several pigmentary disorders that respond well to laser treatment.
