Skin tags are harmless. That is the first thing worth saying, and it is why most people put up with them for years. But harmless is not the same as unbothered: a cluster along the back of the neck catches on collars, chain necklaces, bra straps and razors, and it is a nuisance every single day.
Where they turn up
This is a very typical presentation. A run of small tags following the nape and the natural fold of the neck — exactly where a shirt label sits and exactly where a necklace clasp lands. They are easy to miss in a mirror and impossible to ignore once you know they are there.
Friction is the common thread. Tags tend to form where skin moves against skin or against fabric, which is why the neck, underarms, eyelids and under the bust are the usual suspects. They are not caused by anything you did, and picking or tying them off at home is a good way to turn a cosmetic annoyance into an infection.
The healed result

You will be given the full aftercare instructions when you book. The short version: keep the area clean and dry, leave it alone while it crusts and lifts on its own, and stay out of the sun while it settles. Rushing that last part is the main reason a well-treated area ends up with a pigment mark, and in this part of Queensland that matters more than it does further south.

That is not paperwork for its own sake — it identifies contraindications such as medications, skin conditions and recent sun exposure that would make treatment unsafe. It is the same process as every other treatment in the clinic, and it is one of the things we do not budge on.
We assess skin lesions for suitability only. We are not a medical practice: anything that looks like it needs a doctor gets referred to one, and we would far rather send you across the road than treat something we should not. If a mole or spot has changed in size, shape or colour, see your GP first.
