“The sweetest girl with the dreamiest hair.” That is how this one went up on our page, and it is a fair description of the finished work: soft, blended and pretty, with nothing sharp anywhere in it.
This is a blonde built with Wella Professionals colour and Blondorplex. Fine weaving, careful saturation and a clean tone through the mid-lengths leave a result that moves as one piece of hair rather than a stack of separate stripes.

If you have had a screenshot saved on your phone for months, this is the sort of blonde worth bringing in.
What this look actually is
A soft blonde is not one colour. It is a blend of a few — a lighter face frame, a slightly deeper base through the back, and fine ribbons of both carried down through the mid-lengths and ends. Up close you can see the variation. From a metre away it reads as one soft, even tone.
The giveaway of a poorly built blonde is a line: a band where the regrowth colour stops, or a row of stripes where the foils sat. This one has neither. The transition from root to end is gradual, which is why it looks natural in daylight and in photographs, and why the grow-out stays kind.
It also suits a lot of people. Fine hair gets depth without going darker overall. Thicker hair gets movement instead of a solid block of colour. If your natural colour sits anywhere from dark blonde to medium brown, a blend like this is usually achievable in one long appointment — though we will always tell you honestly at consultation if it needs two, and we would rather say that than rush it.
How a blonde like this is built
Every blonde at La Mode starts with a consultation. We look at what is on your hair now, its history, and where it needs to get to. Cutting and colouring are the core of the salon, and a colour this soft is all in the placement.
In the chair, the work is in the sectioning. Fine, clean weaves — thin slices of hair rather than chunky ones — placed so the lightener sits where it will catch the light and skips where it will not. The back takes a slightly different pattern to the sides, and the face frame is woven the finest of all, because that is the part people see most.
Blondorplex goes in with the lightener. It is a bond-building additive from Wella that works while the colour develops, helping to hold the structure of the hair together through a lift. On a blonde that needs to come up several levels, that matters. A lift like this usually takes time, and rushing it is how you end up with breakage or a tone that will not settle.
Once the lift is where it needs to be, the tone goes on. Wella Professionals gives us a wide range of shades to gloss with, so we can pull warmth out, add a touch of cool, or leave a little gold behind if that sits better with your skin. Then it is a cut and a finish, because a blonde only looks soft when the ends are in good condition.

Keeping it right between visits
Blonde is the most maintenance-heavy colour we do, but the right routine at home does most of the work. Our approach is to send you home knowing exactly what to use and what to leave alone.
Wash less often than you think you need to, with a sulphate-free shampoo and a conditioner you actually leave on for a minute. A toning shampoo once a week at most — any more and the ends start to look grey and feel dry. Cool water on the final rinse helps the cuticle lie flat.
Heat is the other thing. Lifted blonde is more porous, so always use a heat protector before straighteners or a dryer, and keep the irons off the highest setting. A weekly mask through the last third of the hair keeps the ends from going fuzzy between appointments.
Back in the salon, most soft blondes want a gloss every six to eight weeks to keep the tone fresh, with a full colour appointment every three to four months and a trim every eight to ten. If you have a wedding, a holiday or a big event coming up, book the colour at least two weeks ahead so there is room to adjust anything you are not happy with. Our pricing is based on time and product, so a long blonde is quoted at consultation rather than guessed at over the phone, and there is plenty more blonde work on the blondes page.
